You are looking at a D# minor Lower mid range Hard Maple, Native American style flute made by Mockingbird Flutes, of Texas! This flute has a Black Walnut Horse totem and pyrography hand prints and designs. Of course if you see any flute design/carving that you would want in any key then I will be glad to customize it to your hands as long as the flute physics allow it. If you have very small hands it is much more difficult to impossible to make a real low flute to match the max comfort reach on the bottom three holes. So on custom flutes I always ask for the fingers measured from the center of the finger nails while holding a flute or flute shapped object to get the best spacing, if it is for a flute that is mid rang then a comfortable stretch should be measured; but if it is for a low flute you will want to give me also your Max streatch. This way I will be able to adjust the design to make to most comfortable reach possible. Let me know also if you find that on the lower flutes that you have tried if it is a stretch to reach arm wise also; if it is I can make the flute as a side blown flute as long as I know which hand down you use so I can put the blow hole on the correct side of the flute. This doesn't change how it is played just the location of the blow hole, although most people that have played my walking stick flutes all love the extra sound they hear from a side blown flute because the sound hole is closer to their ear plus it makes it even more comfortable to play.

I don't do this part time; I spend my time focused on making the best sounding flutes as well as creative designs. This also gives me enough time to make all my flutes while in a positive frame of mind. I start my day with meditation and prayer to the Creator to guide me through the day and to bless my flutes so they may heal the mind and spirit of those playing and hearing them. I also burn incense and cedar for each flute prior to tuning. I do this because I have been on a spiritual journey for most of my life and when I found the Native American Flute it just fit in with my Journey. This is why making flutes has become my passion!

The finger holes are placed on center in the traditional style. See the flute lay out for the finger hole sizes and spacing. This flute, like all Native American style flutes are affected by temperature as far as the tuning is concerned but it was tuned at 72 degrees to a Mid "D#" fundamental. This flute can be played by a professional at a recording studio or by the new flute player just playing by themselves.
